Brothers Gather for a Day of Fellowship and Community
RIVIERA BEACH, FL – July 18, 2026 — Brothers of Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge No. 765, Prince Hall Affiliated, traveled from Indiantown to attend the Great Smoke Off BBQ Competition, held at Dan Calloway-Tate Recreation Park, 1420 W. 10th Street, Riviera Beach, Florida.
The annual event brought together barbecue enthusiasts, families, community organizations, and Prince Hall Masons from across South Florida for a day filled with outstanding food, fellowship, and community spirit. More than just a BBQ competition, the Great Smoke Off served as an opportunity to strengthen friendships, celebrate our shared values, and engage with the communities we proudly serve.
Prince Hall Lodges United in Brotherhood
Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge No. 765 was honored to spend the day alongside brothers from several respected Prince Hall lodges, including:

Our Junior Warden, along with several brothers of Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge No. 765, proudly represented the lodge throughout the event. Whether enjoying award-worthy barbecue, sharing stories with brothers from neighboring lodges, or meeting members of the community, the day reflected the spirit of Prince Hall Freemasonry.
Events like these allow us to build meaningful relationships, encourage mentorship among our brothers, and demonstrate the positive impact that Freemasonry continues to have throughout our communities.
"How Good and Pleasant It Is"
The fellowship shared during the Great Smoke Off was perfectly captured by the words of Psalm 133:1:
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity."
That message continues to inspire Prince Hall Masons everywhere. Unity, respect, and service remain at the heart of everything we do, and this event was a wonderful reminder of the strength found in brotherhood.
