Historically, Black men like Prince Hall were denied entry to white lodges, leading to the creation of separate Prince Hall Grand Lodges. Some laws, such as Florida’s 1893 statute, even codified racial exclusion, allowing certain lodges to admit “exclusively” white members (First Coast News). Historical figures like Albert Pike, a prominent 19th-century Mason, also reflect the complex realities of the era.

Today, most lodges are racially inclusive, with mutual recognition between mainstream and Prince Hall Grand Lodges. While individual bias has existed, racism is not part of Masonic doctrine, and the fraternity actively promotes equality.

Every Christmas season carries a little magic, and this year it found its way to our Masonic Lodge in Indiantown, Florida. What began as a small Christmas mailbox inviting children to share their wish lists grew into our first-ever Toy Drive, bringing joy to families across Indiantown and Martin County. From handwritten letters to a special shopping day on December 22, Christmas wishes were turned into lasting memories. We’re honored to serve our community and grateful to share this unforgettable holiday story with you.
