Prince Hall Day 2025: Walter Johnson Jr. Florida Masonic Lodge Celebrates Unity and Legacy

Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge | District 20/30

Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge was honored to attend the 2025 Prince Hall Day Celebration, held under the auspices of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida, Belize, Central America & Jurisdiction, Inc., Prince Hall Affiliated, led by The Honorable Gus Harris, 33° KYGCH, 20th Most Worshipful Grand Master.

This year’s observance took place at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4545 30th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32967, under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Carl Darrisaw, Pastor. Brethren from Districts 29 and 30, along with our affiliated Sisters, united in a spirit of reverence, fellowship, and unity. It was truly a day of celebrating the enduring legacy of Prince Hall and the unbreakable bonds that tie us together.

Honoring the Legacy of Prince Hall

Prince Hall Day is a sacred tradition throughout Prince Hall Affiliation, commemorating the life and vision of Prince Hall, the founder of African American Freemasonry in the United States.

His pursuit of justice, education, and moral integrity laid the foundation for a fraternal legacy that continues to flourish today. The day reminded us all of our responsibility to reflect his light in our homes, Lodges, and communities.

The service included a powerful address by MWGM Gus Harris, 33°, who emphasized unity, purpose, and the importance of remaining true to our Masonic obligations in a modern world. His words uplifted and challenged us to do more and be more, both as Masons and as men.

United in Fellowship

Representing Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge, our members proudly stood alongside Brothers from Districts 29 and 30, joined by our esteemed Sisters who graced the occasion with their presence, support, and strength.

Their involvement reflects the cooperative spirit that continues to build and sustain our collective Masonic family. Events like this remind us that while we may meet in separate houses, we labor toward the same noble ends: faith, service, and unity.

Gratitude and Appreciation

We extend sincere thanks to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 4545 30th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32967, and especially to Rev. Carl Darrisaw, Pastor, for opening the doors of the church and providing a welcoming space for this important occasion. Special recognition also goes to the District leadership, event organizers, and all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.
