Walter Johnson JR. Indiantown Masonic Lodge Joins iTown MyTown Cleanup at Post Family Park

There’s something powerful about waking up early on a Saturday morning with a purpose bigger than yourself. On September 27th at 7:00 AM, the brothers of Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge #765 gathered at Post Family Park in Indiantown, Florida, ready to roll up their sleeves and join their neighbors in the iTown MyTown Community Cleanup.

What started as a simple call to action quickly turned into a day filled with laughter, hard work, and connection — a reminder that change happens when people come together and choose to care.

As we spread out across the park at 15700 SW Warfield Blvd, the first thing that struck us was the sense of unity. Local residents, volunteers, and community leaders like Mrs. Phyllis Brown were there with the same goal: to restore and protect one of Indiantown’s beloved green spaces. Working alongside the Village of Indiantown Community Center, everyone pitched in, picking up litter, clearing debris, and giving the park a fresh look that anyone who visits will notice.

But this wasn’t just about cleaning a park — it was about investing in our community’s future. Post Family Park is a place where families gather, children play, and memories are made. By caring for this space, we’re caring for the heart of Indiantown itself.

Throughout the morning, we found ourselves talking with neighbors we hadn’t met before. We shared stories, swapped ideas for future projects, and built friendships grounded in a shared love for our town. It was a reminder that service isn’t just about what we do — it’s about the connections we make along the way.

As members of Walter Johnson Jr. Masonic Lodge #765, we carry a proud tradition. We operate under the protection of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge, Most Ancient and Honorable Fraternity Free & Accepted Masons of Florida, Belize, Central America & Jurisdiction, Inc., Prince Hall Affiliated, led by The Honorable Gus Harris, 20th Most Worshipful Grand Master. Our Masonic values guide us to serve with integrity, humility, and commitment — values that were alive and well as we worked side by side with our fellow Indiantown residents.

By coming together that morning, we saw firsthand how much good can happen when a community unites. It’s not just about cleaning a park or picking up trash — it’s about building a foundation for future generations, showing up for one another, and living out the principles of brotherhood and service.

We left Post Family Park tired but inspired — inspired by what we accomplished, by the people we met, and by the spirit of Indiantown itself.
